“Charity begins at home” goes a regular adage when referring to human empowerment. This has been practically applied by some origins of Manyu division in the Southwest Region of Cameroon.
The people of Manyu division are about to gather again to celebrate their artists and cultural heritage in an event known as “Manyu Cultural Award (MCA)” This event which highlights artists with origins from Manyu division, recognises the artists with awards in order to empower their talents and creativity.

This empowerment event, Manyu Cultural Award, was created in 2022 by Tata Asock Akebe Mbi Ebini with the assistance of Prophetic Apostle, Dr. Hamilton Ayuk both driven by the vision to uplift Manyu talent and preserve their cultural identity. Thus, the event promotes and celebrates Manyu talents world wide. The first edition of the event took place in December 2023 in Limbe, and artists from Manyu division were delighted to celebrate their talents and culture together with their people.

An event like this has many benefits for the artists’ crafts as well as their economy. This could also be a platform for the artists to mingle with each other for better opportunities especially collaboration. One of the reasons this is happening again. The next edition of Manyu Cultural Awards (MCA) is scheduled to take place on the 20th of December, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Resort Centre in Limbe, Cameroon.
